BCCI AGM to decide on cricket in Los Angeles Olympics on December 24!!

Here we are with great news for all crick lovers that will definitely increase your serotonin level and boost your excitement for the game.

To start with, tell us, what if, next year you will be given an opportunity to watch two brand-spanking teams!

Fun, right!

The BCCI has decided to expand its Twenty20 league and on 24th December, Annual General Meeting will officially announce the arrival of two new teams to the league!

Team Base

First team will be based on Ahmedabad-the renovated mega Motera Stadium and the second team could be from any of the following state- Lucknow, Kanpur and Pune.

As first one is fix so you all can put bets on the selection of second team’s state!

Well, we think that adding a new team is easy, but for BCCI it’s very tricky decision especially during the pandemic times.

Issues

Next year’s IPL will begin in the month of March or April and technically it’s impossible to complete mega auction, retention policy and all other formalities for the newly arrived teams.

Another problem is uncertainty over the venue because due to COVID-19 it’s difficult to decide the venue of 2021 IPL earlier, maybe next year IPL will be conducted again in United Arab Emirates and maybe not!

As per the timeline, we may take approval of the two new teams this year and add them in next season in 2022. Once the AGM will approve the order, both teams will go forward. There are two more teams who won an arbitration against BCCI named Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Aurobindo Pharma from South India.

Also put a glance on Olympics!

Meanwhile, BCCI also shared some participation points of 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Addition of cricket is in the top of headlines in ICC but traditionally BCCI has been opposed to it.

But now, as the official statement from the ICC came, BCCI will finalise its stand at the AGM!
