Chennai Super Kings: Robin Uthappa has been traded to CSK in an all-cash deal by RR

The Indian cricketer Robin Venu Uthappa who also plays for Kerala in domestic cricket has been sold to Chennai Super Kings in an all-cash deal by Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming IPL 2021.

Uthappa comes from Karnataka and he is currently Thirty-Five Years old.

In the last season of IPL which was held in UAE. Robin scored 196 runs in 12 matches with the strike rate of 120 after being picked up by Rajasthan Royals for a big amount of INR 3 Crore. 

Previously he has played for MI, RCB, Pune and Kolkata Knight Riders. Uthappa has played every season of the IPL since the beginning of the tournament and has scored 4607 runs from 189 game with a S/R of 130 in his IPL carrier. These includes Twenty-Four Half-Centuries and the best season for him was of the 2014 where he scored 660 runs and won the orange cap as well as the KKR second title win.

After the release Uthappa said that he enjoyed the year spent with Rajasthan Royals and loved the time being part of the franchise and ready for the journey ahead for the CSK franchise IPL 2021.

Including Australia’s start Batsmen Steven Smith, RR have released 8 players after the team finished at the last position of the points table in the last edition of IPL.

After releasing Smith, RR have named wicket keeper Batsmen Sanju Samson as the young captain of the franchise.
