Cricket New Zealand’s former test skipper great John Reid lost his life at 92

John Reid, the former skipper of New Zealand during the test matches. In a tournament against West Indies in 1956, in New Zealand. NZ won that game making John the first captain to gain victory at home. And then in a tournament against South Africa at the venue of South Africa, again NZ won the game making John the first captain to gain victory away from home. 

In 1949, he entered international cricket for New Zealand. At that time, he was just 19-year-old. He was one of the best All-rounders. He had good strength to hit the ball very hard.

Unfortunately, New Zealand Cricket has disclosed the death of John Reid. He lost his life at an age of 92. However, the cause of death was still not revealed. 

He had played a total of 58 test matches out of which he commanded in 34 games. 

He has made a total sum of 3,428 runs. This record includes six centuries as well as he acquired around 85 wickets.

It is said that he might have built more records and other achievements. In a test game against India which was being held in Calcutta, he struck four sixes on the very first dawn of the game. And that it becomes a burden when it’s all on you and that can bring you down
