Hands off the pitch! India’s unusual demands revealed ahead of crucial day two

Indian squad had requested an unusual ultimatum before the beginning of the second day of the test game between India and Australia. The squad had withheld the ground staff to touch the pitch.

That implies to the fact that the pitch was not swept in the dawn. The squad had closed day 1 with a score of 233 and a loss of 6 wickets and had to begin day 2 with the same.

Based on the reports, the Indian squad had passed an apparent indication to the ground staff. However, this is very bizarre as the squads are provided with an alternative of utilizing the heavy or light rollers before the commencement of the game.

As per the rules, squads are enabled to request such demand 10 minutes before proceeding with the game. Furthermore, as the pitch remains untouched, it also implies that the pitch might incline towards the Australian spinners as it will be easy to grip more and would help to turn the ball a lot.

However, the whole Indian squad was dismissed at 244 score as on the new day they managed to add 11 runs for the team. On day one, the team looked at a pretty good stance as Ajinkya Rahane and the skipper, Virat Kohli we’re building an astounding partnership.

However, confusion between them while running between the wickets caused the skipper to lose his wicket. The skipper got dismissed at a score of 74 runs in 180 balls. He played an astonishing knock for the team.

As soon as the skipper left the field, it was time for experienced Ajinkya Rahane to play a good knock ahead. He was already playing a beautiful game and had already scored 42 runs. However, he couldn’t sustain and unfortunately, lost his wicket to Mitchell Starc.

Subsequently, Hanuma Vihari also lost his wicket to Josh Hazlewood. And Wriddhiman Saha couldn’t do much for the team as he didn’t get the aid from the opposite end.

Talking about the Australian first innings, Joe burns and Matthew Wade couldn’t hold their wicket and got dismissed in the very initial session. However, Marnus Labuschange managed to get two chances as the Indian bowler, Jasprit Bumrah and Prithvi Shaw did not grab those simple catches.
