IMRAN TAHIR: THE ONLY STAR FROM CSA TO PARTICIPATE IN CPL

With the world returning to normalcy at a slow pace after the pandemic, the game of cricket is also picking up momentum in both the domestic and international arena. A lot of matches are being hosted in various places across the globe. 

The Caribbean Premier League for this year is scheduled from August 18 and a total of 33 matches would be played in a span of two months marking the restart of cricket in Trinidad and Tobago.

With due precautions against COVID 19, the league will be played in a bubble that is biosecure and all the players would be precautious to maintain all safety measures. All matches in the league will be played behind closed doors to fight the transmission of the virus.

Many prominent players would be featuring in the Caribbean Premier League 2020  and many of the South African cricketers such as Rassie Van der Dussen, Anrich Nortje, Tanraiz Shamsi, Colin Ingram, and Rilee Rossouw were not able to make to it to participant in the tournament as their travel arrangements were not confirmed in time.

 However, CPL 2020 will see Imran Tahir participating in the tournament as he was in Pakistan through the lockdown and has not been to South Africa since then which has made it possible for him to travel to West Indies from Pakistan. 

The Pakistani born South African cricketer had said that he had tried his best to represent Pakistan in the world cricket but with that not possible he is grateful to CSA for giving him an opportunity to fulfill his dreams of playing international cricket and his aim is to see CSA win the trophy in T20 league.

The CPL organizers have asked the players to arrive in their country by 1st of August to complete the quarantine period before the start of the tournament and the Cash-rich Indian Premier League is the one which is highly awaited by the cricket fans which is scheduled from September 19th in UAE and the participation of various players are being processed in logistical checks and government permissions.
