IND vs WI 3rd ODI, Yesterday Match Result, Highlights: India Dominates The Rain-Affected Match Thanks To Shubham Gill And Yuzvendra Chahal

India completed the clean sweep by defeating the hosts 3-0. Since their batting was so strong, headed by openers Shikhar Dhawan (58) and Shubman Gill (98*), India may look back on this game with a lot of optimism.

The Windies set a target of 257 in 35 overs after the game was stopped by rain, but the hitters never seemed to be in the game as Indian bowlers pounced on them.

The hosts were defeated by a strong bowling attack due to the hosts’ poor shot selection.

Siraj (2/14), Thakur (2/17) and Chahal (4/17) all utilized the ball sparingly and strategically to strike their adversaries.

West Indies’ pursuit of 257 got off to a disastrous start when pacer Mohammed Siraj claimed openers Kyle Mayers and Shamarh Brooks in the second over.

Shai Hope, the starting quarterback for the hosts, and Brandon King then carried on their quest. They both continued their vigorous racing between the wickets.

Keacy Carty’s replacement was standing in the goal crease. As he began to play more forcefully, Pooran crushed Deepak Hooda for four and six as well as Axar for four.

The pair increased the visitors’ total to 100 runs after 18 overs, with Pooran grabbing the lead.

Carty was dismissed for just five runs off of 17 balls by Shardul Thakur following a 29-run partnership. At this point, at 103, half the Windies lineup had left the cabin.

Jason Holder was the next batter to approach the crease. In order for the all-rounder to successfully make his long-awaited return to white-ball cricket, he needed to build a solid connection with his captain.

Pooran, a threatening batsman, was caught by Dhawan at mid-on and removed by Prasidh for 42 off 32 balls, earning him his first wicket of the day.

Thakur gave the hosts another opportunity to score by sending Akael Hosein back for only one run after captain Dhawan produced yet another wonderful catch.

The only player left in the Windies’ squad was Holder, and he needed to play incredibly well if he wanted to lead his team to victory.

The situation for the Windies only became worse when Thakur caught Paul at point while attempting a reverse sweep, leading to Chahal dismissing him for a duck

India made the decision to bat first and was cautious for the first ten overs, rotating the strike and making huge hits sporadically.

The openers Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill were able to finish the necessary powerplay with a score of 45/0, maintaining unbeaten at 22 each, demonstrating the effectiveness of their methodical approach.

After reaching their 50-run stand in 67 balls, the duo accelerated their run-scoring.

The captain, Dhawan, hit fifty for the 37th time in ODIs. In 118 balls, Dhawan and Gill scored their 100th run together.
