India vs England 5th Test Day 2 Yesterday Match Result, Highlights: Bumrah Takes 3 Wickets as Eng at 84/5

The second day of the fifth test match between India and England was dominated by Indian pacers as England was reeling at 84/5 with Stokes and Bairstow in the middle.

Ravindra Jadeja’s back-to-back fours to reach his ton were the highlight of the match. 

Exceptional bowling by pacers helped India to boss the game.

Three wickets by stand in India captain reduced England to 60-3 on the rain affected second day. 

Currently India is in a terrific position, staring at a historic series win on England soil. It would take something extraordinary from England spinners to make a comeback in the match.

Ravindra Jadeja completed a well-deserved century, scoring 104 off 194 balls, while the hosts were all out for 416 in their first innings. 

During the opening session, India added 78 runs, resuming on 338/7, to recover the loss of the remaining three wickets.

Rishabh Pant was combative and Ravindra Jadeja composed in leading India’s recovery from 98-5 to 338-7 against England on the first day of the series-deciding test at Edgbaston on Friday.

India wrapped up their first innings at 416 with Siraj’s wicket. When England was at 84-5 they required 133 to avoid the follow-on.

The game moved very fast despite the rain intervals but it was Bumrah who headlined the day with his all-round display. All eyes on Stokes and Bairstow as England face a tricky task tomorrow. 

It was a dominant day for India as they scored some quick runs in the first session itself to cross the 400-run mark. These courtesy of centuries from Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja helped India in bossing the match and then a quickfire knock from Jasprit Bumrah added the cherry on the cake. 

Even Indian pacers weren’t any less, their high quality pace attack made English batters struggled. 

Mohammed Siraj dismissed Joe Root to help his side restore while Bumrah removed the top-order. 

Mohammed Shami also took a wicket as England were half-down at stumps. England 84/5 trail India (416) by 332 runs at Stumps.
