INTERNATIONAL CRICKET RETURNS AFTER RAIN DELAYED THE START OF PLAY

Rainfall became another cause of match delay match under the ongoing situation of COVID-19 pandemic lockdown which has delayed the international cricket for 117 days already.

An upcoming international test three series match between England and West Indies has been postponed due to the rainfall on Wednesday in Southampton England.

When all the cricketers were back in shape and warming up the under the cloudy sky, the quick rainfall prevented the toss at 9:30GMT as scheduled.

Umpire Richard Kettleborough and Richard Illingworth announced the luch 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

This was the first international match of cricket in the COVID-19 quarantine lockdown era but the rain caused to fall and delayed the match.

Moreover, on one hand, the pandemic situation is not letting viewers enjoy the live match currently and now the disappointment among cricket fans has even got deeper as the plans of enjoying the match from home also got hampered due to the rainfall.

But we have good news for you, reports are that the match will surely start again as the clouds are not much covering the sky of Southampton.

Meanwhile, here are more insights for you.

As soon as the match resumes, we will get to see the batting of England first as the team has already won the toss for batting.

Furthermore, in this test series, the place of Joe Root is taken by new captain Ben Stocks who has won the toss for his team by taking batting first.

Well, we will surely miss the Joe Root, however, we will have a chance for the celebration as his absence is due to the birth of his second child.

So now let us hope that the match shouldn’t again be delayed with the unfortunate and sudden raining in between the match as there are many innings and two series also left to be played.
