IPL 2020: Delhi Capitals sets an unnecessary IPL record, become 2nd team after Kings XI Punjab to fail 100 games

This season of IPL is unique. One cannot predict what’s gonna happen. Mumbai Indians as well as Delhi Capitals have been playing brilliantly. Both of them may find their spot in the playoffs.

Mumbai Indians have won 5 out of 7 matches furthermore they hold the first position in the points table with an NRR of 1.327. And even Delhi Capitals have victories in 5 out of 7 games also they are just below the defending champions, Mumbai Indians after achieving the Net Run Rate of 1.038.

DELHI CAPITALS VS  MUMBAI INDIANS

In a recent match of the Capitals against Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals had to face an unfortunate downfall. Mumbai Indians prevailed over the Capitals.

In a post-match interview, the Delhi Capitals Captian Skipper and a young Indian Batsman, Shreyas Iyer stated that there were many flaws in the efforts on the field and that they need to improve on that. Fielding did by the players are not very satisfying as there were many misfields and they couldn’t grab a few catches. And that MI had surpassed them.

DELHI CAPITALS UNWANTED ACHIEVEMENT

The Capitals have only lost two matches so far. However, they have achieved an unwanted record after losing against MI of losing 100 games in the Indian Premier League. The loss against MI was their 100th loss in the league.  Delhi Capitals is the second squad to attain this record.

The First team to achieve this record the team which is at the bottom in the current season’s points table, King’s XI Punjab. They attained this record in their game against Kolkata Knight Riders. The game was in the KXIP’s bucket before Kolkata Knight Rider snatched it away from them.

Talking about DC, they are yet to earn their first IPL trophy. However, the previous records are not even close to assist in winning the trophy. Moreover, the Capitals haven’t even reached till the Final. DC had qualified in the playoffs being at third place in points table that too three times in  2009, 2012, and in the previous year 2019.

CONCLUSION

However, unlike another season, DC has been playing excellently in the present season. They are one of the great candidates to lift the trophy this year as they have defeated five out of the other seven teams.
