IRE vs NZ 1st ODI Yesterday Match Result, Highlights: NZ Defeats IRE By a Wicket

New Zealand defeated Ireland by one wicket in their debut one-day international thanks to Michael Bracewell, who scored 24 runs in the final over, including the decisive six off the penultimate delivery. 

In the opening match against Ireland, New Zealand was somewhat in danger. The Irish team, though, appeared to be very confident in their talents.

Bracewell later hit a magnificent 127 to win the match for the visitors as New Zealand concluded with 9-305 in 49.5 overs at Malahide in response to Ireland’s 9-300 in the thrilling match on Sunday.

Michael Bracewell, who went on to produce a superb century knock to seal the victory for his team, ultimately saved New Zealand’s face.

The Irish cricket team threatened to pull off a similar upset against the Black Caps in Malahide the day after the Irish rugby team stunned the All Blacks in Dunedin. 

It appeared for a good portion of the game that Irish sports fans would have an even more memorable weekend, but the sold-out audience on Sunday was devastated when Michael Bracewell crushed an unbeaten 127 off 82 balls in just his fourth ODI to take victory with one wicket and one ball to spare.

Bracewell’s first ODI century beat Harry Tector’s, preventing Ireland from defeating New Zealand for the first time in international cricket.
