Kusal Mendis Leads Sri Lanka To Their Victory Against Australia

Kusal Mendis put up a massive run partnership of 213 runs with Pathum Nissanka to help Sri Lanka lead the five-match ODI series with 2-1.

Mendis scored 87 of 85 before getting retired with a suspected hamstring injury.

While Nissanka was watchful in his approach Mendis took off and raced to 26 off just 18 balls. The duo kept piling on the runs by not allowing the required rate to rise over dangerous territory.

Thus, Mendis’s inspirational chase and tremendous innings helped Sri Lanka in chasing the total.

Balapuwaduge Kusal Gimhan Mendis had captained Sri Lanka’s squad for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Ireland on 16 June 2016 and his T20I debut against England on 5 July 2016 on the same tour.
