NCA HAS ASKED BCCI FOR CONFIRMATION ON THE FINAL CALL FOR ISHANT AND PANT!!

India’s one of finest red-ball bowler Ishant Sharma and emerging wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant both are under observation after getting injured. National Cricket Academy (NCA) has asked BCCI to take the last decision on both players. Significantly, India is touring Australia in the upcoming months.

Let’s find out what NCA has said

After getting injured in IPL at Dubai, Ishant has kept in NCA under the support staff and was treated but still is questionable.

Ishant Sharma has suffered from abdominal muscle tear and has been checked at the academy. BCCI’s selection committee is eager to choose their first team after the lockdown for India’s tour to Australia but the questions are still on the fitness of Ishant and Pant. All-time legend Rahul Dravid is currently heading the National Cricket Academy.

NCA HAS ASKED BCCI FOR CONFIRMATION ON THE FINAL CALL FOR ISHANT AND PANT!!

The latest update from BCCI is that Ishant needs time till November 18 to recover fully so that he can assure his availability for the upcoming Boarder-Gavaskar Trophy.

It will take at least three-four weeks for 32-year to get trained for an international match. The NCA has suggested BCCI give Ishant one or two warm-up games before he gets drafted to playing eleven when India will take Aussies.

I know many readers must be thinking about why we are talking about India’s confirmation. Has Australia solved their issues?

If not, then why the selectors are assuring the dates when they have no idea about the first test. BCCI should look for more options like they should look for Ishant’s replacement. Let’s assume that the test series will begin in mid-December it means Ishant will be seen playing as per NCA guidelines.

Now, let’s take another case suppose the series will resume at the start of December then, what will BCCI do? If they are waiting for Ishant’s recovery then they are taking a big risk.

Keeping in mind what has happened in New Zealand, BCCI should have thought twice before taking any risk as the same thing happened this year in January with Ishant- he was replaced in the second test after getting injured.

Now let’s come to Rishabh Pant, the issue with him is quite interesting. BCCI is seeing Pant with the weight issue. So, the final call will be of BCCI whether he will take the flight to Australia or not.

Having strong bench strength is the key to success and BCCI should look at this. What do you think guys? Keep sharing your thoughts with us.
