Sachin Tendulkar has Bowled More Than 8,000 ODI deliveries Which Are More Than These Bowling Greats!

Master Blaster was one of the great batsmen of all-time but he also bowled quite a few deliveries in his time and he even has bowled more deliveries than some of the bowling great let’s look at who they are!

Whenever you hear Sachin Tendulkar the first thing that comes to mind is his batting and rightfully so since he is the leading run-scorer in both Tests and ODIs and not only that he is leading run-scorer of all time in International Cricket. He is also the 1st batsman to score a double century in ODI and the only player to score 100 international centuries. 

These are a only few of his achievements however Sachin also bowled, he was a right-arm leg-spin bowler. He has bowled a total of 8,054 deliveries in 463 matches and has bagged 154 wickets in ODIs. Sachin has bowled more deliveries than some of the bowling greats and the list may surprise you.

Here are a few bowling greats who have bowled fewer deliveries than Sachin in ODIs:

1) Lance Klusener

Lance Klusener a former South African all-rounder has played 171 matches in ODIs and bowled 7336 deliveries in his ODI career. Klusener, who was known for his under pressure bowling and was the one who was trusted with ending overs, grabbed a total of 192 wickets within the 50-over format.

2) Dale Steyn

One of the fastest pacers Dale Steyn has bowled 6,256 deliveries throughout his career as a pacer for South Africa in International Cricket. Steyn, who dominated the ICC rankings for a record, 263 weeks between 2008 and 2014, at the peak of his career. In 6,256 deliveries he bagged a total of 196 wickets in his 125 ODI matches.

4) Mitchell Johnson

Former Australian fast pacer Mitchell Johnson has played in a total of 153 matches during his career in ODIs and bowled 7,489 deliveries throughout his career. The left-arm fast, who was more famous in the Test format, had bagged a whopping 951 wickets in his 153 matches in the 50-over format.

5) Imran Khan

1992 World Cup-winning Pakistan captain Imran Khan the World Cup-winning Captain for Pakistan has delivered 7,461 balls in 175 matches during his 18-year career.

Imran has picked up a total of 182 ODI wickets, not only that he also has bagged three four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul. His best figures were 6 wickets for just 14 runs.

6) Shoaib Akhtar 

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar, who holds the record for quickest delivery bowled, he got the record by bowling a delivery at 161.3km/h. He has bowled 7,764 deliveries in 274 ODIs that he played for Pakistan.

Akhtar took 274 wickets throughout his ODI career and also earned the nickname “Rawalpindi Express” for his fast-paced bowling.
