Sri Lanka Vs England – 1st T20I Preview

The first T20I is played between England Vs Sri Lanka. It will be held on 23rd June 2021 Wednesday at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
After touring Bangladesh a few weeks ago, Sri Lanka is currently in the UK for the three-match T20I and ODI series.
The Lankans recently lost to Bangladesh and now face one of the best teams in the world of limited-overs cricket.
While the shorter format will narrow the gap between the two teams, winning against a top team in the T20Is will also be a tough task for Sri Lanka.
England is the number one T20I team in the world and they also have a number one T20I batsman, Dawid Malan on their side.
This series will be a tougher outing for the Lankans in front of England, who is an unbeatable side at home. Sri Lanka is ranked eighth in the rankings of T20I. But still, Eoin and his England are favourites to win this series.
The weather in the UK is unpredictable, although according to AccuWeather there will be dark clouds during the match will go as planned
Temperatures are expected to be around 17 degrees Celsius, with little wind on the ground.
The Sophia Gardens Cardiff court is generally allowing the batsmen to play shots and spinners are assisted in dry conditions.
But bowlers such as Sam Curran and Chris Woakes can cause issues in cloudy weather. The average score of the first Innings: 174 runs Sri Lanka will look to get more in front of a power-packed team like England.
Kusal Perera will lead this team and he will be the player to watch out for. Sri Lanka needs to turn things around after they had a disappointing series loss against Bangladesh.
This series will be a good preparation ahead of the limited-overs series against India. Sri Lanka will play three T20Is and ODI series against India from July 13th 2021 at Colombo.
England will look to be unbeatable at home and they would be facing a low ranked Sri Lankan team. England has all-rounders like Curran, Willey, Woskes and Ali. But still, miss Archer and Stokes in their team.
The match will be brought live on the Sony LIV app for live streaming and it will be shown on Sony at 11 PM IST.
