With a half century in the second innings during the last Test between India vs Australia in Brisbane, Smith became the 8th highest run scorer for Australia in Test cricket.

He has now scored 7540 runs is seventy-seven Test matches surpassing former batsman Mark Taylor, who has scored 7525 Test runs in his whole career.

Smith slammed his 31st Test half century during the second session in their second innings in the last Test at Brisbane.

He played 74 balls and scored 55 runs including 7 fours with a strike rate of 74. His game was little bit aggressive to increase their total Lead against India.

Smith missed an outstanding ton which could have been a historic hundred in second innings at Brisbane but his innings helped Australia to get on top.
