Sunil Gavaskar criticized the Skipper of Rajasthan Royals for his inconsistent performance in the IPL 2021 season

The former Indian Cricketer and the former Captain of the Indian Team, Sunil Gavaskar has come down heavily on the Rajasthan Royals skipper, Sanju Samson after he continued his inconsistent run in their last match against Virat led Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The former skipper has said that Sanju Samson has been finding ways of getting out in the Indian Premier League 2021 season. Samson played a brilliant knock of 119 runs against Punjab Kings in their opening encounters. But at that time, he had no Royal support from his RR mates and that was the reason why the double R’s lost that match by just four runs.

But since his 199 runs cameo, Samson has been silent with the bat so far. In the next three games, the RR skipper has scored just 26 runs with a low average of 8.67.

In the game played between RR and RCB, Samson looked good till he scored 21 runs. But his consistency came in between and he gave a simple catch off Washington Sundar’s bowling to Glenn Maxwell, who stood at midwicket.

Sunny was equally disappointed with the fans of Double R’s. The 71-year former cricketer and the current commentator said that Sanju needs to show more responsibility as a batsman and leader. Samson should lead the team from the front. Due to the consistency issues, Samson hasn’t cemented his place in the Indian International team.

Gavaskar feels that Sanju is in rush always. Sunny also said that Sanju has all the talent in the world. He just needs to play proper cricketing shots and he will do fine. Gavaskar added that the captain should take the responsibility as Samson did in the first match of this IPL 2021 season.

His inconsistency is one of the reasons why Samson is not part of the Indian team. He scores a run in one match and looks to carry as if he is batting in the next match of the same game.

RR lost to RCB by ten wickets yesterday. Virat and Devdutt chased the target of 178 runs without losing any wickets. Virat smashed his 6000 runs in the IPL and he is the first player to reach this milestone. While Paddikal scored the maiden century of his IPL career.

After this hammering loss against RCB, Sanju Samson said that RR needs to do their proper homework and come back brilliantly in the next upcoming matches.
