Virat’s Wisdom Will Have To Take A Break From IPL

The one who advised Virat Kohli to take a break from IPL has been given by none other than Ravi Shastri, the former Indian veteran coach who was close to him. Ravi Shastri believes that if Virat Kohli has to play for India for a few more years, then he should withdraw from the IPL.

Ravi Shastri said during the match show with Star Sports, “I think it is ideal for him to take a break because he has played non-stop cricket. He has captained the team in all formats. It would be wise for them to take a break. You know sometimes a balance has to be struck. If you want to prolong your international career and make a mark for the next 6-7 years, then get out of the IPL.”

Difficult Decisions Have To Be Taken For International Cricket

Ravi Shastri further said that, “You have been playing for 14-15 years. Not only Virat, I will tell this to any other player also. If you want to play longer and do well for India, you have to draw the line where you want to take that break. Ideal break off season would be where India is not playing.”

“India doesn’t play only in the IPL. Sometimes, you need to do that or tell the franchise that I will only play half. Pay me only half, that’s easy. Such tough decisions need to be taken if you want to reach the top as an international player.”
