Virender Sehwag not impressed with the captaincy of Rishabh Pant in the DC Vs RCB match

It does not impress the former Indian team opener, who was also the Delhi and Punjab team captain in the IPL, the leadership quality which the DC skipper, Rishabh Pant, showed in yesterday’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. DC lost that game by a margin of just a single run.

Rishabh Pant scored unbeaten 58 runs, and Shrimron Hetmyer played a sensational knock of unbeaten 53 runs, which scored from just 22 deliveries. But still, Delhi Capitals didn’t go over the line and lost the match against Virat’s RCB at Ahmedabad yesterday.

The Nawab of Najafgarh said that he wouldn’t give Rishabh Pant even five marks out of ten for his leadership qualities which he showed against RCB yesterday.

Pant didn’t use his main bowlers initially, and his calculations went wrong in the end. Viru feels that such mistakes should not happen in a tournament like the Indian Premier League.

Viru said that the captaincy is all about calculation, and that shouldn’t go wrong. The captain should rotate his main bowlers according to the situations which come on the field. The captain cannot rotate his bowlers at his/her will and not been bothered about what is happening in the match.

Sehwag said that Rishabh Pant should learn the tricks and trade of captaincy, or he will keep making such mistakes and give the ball to whoever he wants. A captain is known for turning the game by making the field and bowling change according to the match situation. A captain should have match awareness skills.

Virender Sehwag said this on Cricbuzz.com. Viru is in the expert panel of that site, which gives insights into all the ongoing IPL 2021 season matches.
