Wasim Jaffer Sent Saurav Ganguly His Best Wishes via Twitter

Sourav Ganguly turned 50 on Friday, July 8, and the entire globe wished him a happy birthday.

The former India captain had a significant influence on many athletes and people during his prime.

As evidenced by the deluge of birthday greetings posted on Twitter for the BCCI president, from athletes to average people, everyone is a fan of “DADA.”

His former teammate, Wasim Jaffer, also approached him to wish him well. He tweeted, “Salutations are in order. Happy 50th birthday, dad @SGanguly99. wishing you a happy and healthy new year.”

Wasim Jaffer, who was born on February 16, 1978, played cricket professionally before retiring. He occasionally bowled off-breaks with his right arm and was a right-handed opening batter.

He has surpassed Amol Muzumdar to become the player with the most runs scored in the Ranji Trophy of cricket.

In November 2018, he became the first batsman in the competition to amass 11,000 runs. In January 2019, he surpassed Madhya Pradesh’s Devendra Bundela to become the player with the most appearances in Ranji Trophy history (145).

He was chosen to coach Bangladesh’s cricket team’s batting. He declared his retirement from all forms of cricket in March 2020.

In June 2020, Jaffer was named the head coach of Uttarakhand for the 2020–21 season. He resigned in February 2021, citing “intervention and bias” in the team selection.
