We were completely outplayed: Kohli blames it on ineffective bowling

India vs Australia series always has a higher intensity as two of the most competitive teams in international cricket go head to head. This time the India’s tour of Australia began from 27 November with a 3-match ODI series.

It was expected that Indian players who had recently performed pretty well in the IPL will once again display their brilliance and Australia will have to work very hard for winning the series.

But contrary to all the pre-assumptions India have miserably failed in the ODI series till now. Australia have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series and if India continue playing this way there’s no doubt that it’ll be a whitewash.

Another loss:

In the second match Australia once again won the toss and elected to bat first and their opening pair once again stole the game away from India in the very beginning by putting up another partnership of 140+ runs.

Warner scored 86 and Finch 67 after which captain Steve Smith scored a century and Maxwell came to bat at the end to entertain everyone inside the stadium and play some big shots to score 67 runs of less than 30 balls. Indian bowlers were helpless throughout the match as they conceded a total of 389 by the Aussies.

When India came in to bat, the openers failed to impress, however when Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer were batting with good strike rate, the chase looked possible, however as soon as Kohli got out, the match was always out if India’s reach as India lost by 51 runs.

Kohli holds bowling responsible:

At the presentation ceremony, captain Virat Kohli accepted that the Indian team was completely outplayed by the mighty Aussies and he blamed the team’s ineffective bowling for the poor performance of the team. He said that we couldn’t take wickets at the right time, hence the Aussies were always a step ahead.
