Mumbai Indians won the eliminator match against LSG easily by 81 runs. We have yet to encounter these types of matches in this IPL but LSG played really poorly. MI batted first and scored 182 runs while LSG was bundled on 101 runs by MI bowlers. All it started with MI batting where they were expecting to attack LSG bowlers in power plays. Ishan and Rohit played some good shots but got out in power plays as well. But thereafter, Green and Suryakumar played a brilliant knock and took the scoreboard forward.
Tilak Verma and Nehal Wadhera also gave a good contribution in this inning. With an all-team performance, MI put a total of 182 runs on the scoreboard. It was a big total at Chidambaram Stadium and LSG was looking for a good start. LSG got an average start where they lost 2 wickets in power plays but also scored some quick runs because of Stoinis’s power hitting. They were in this match will power plays but later on, things gotta slip from their hands.
Akash Madhwal came to bowl and started picking wickets without making any delays. Stoinis got run out cheaply because of colliding with his partner. Then not a single player was ready to score some runs. There were some expectations with Nicholas Pooran but he got out on his first ball by Madhwal. It was a dream bowling performance from Madhwal.
No one expected that MI bowlers would restrict LSG at just 101 runs. It was a slow wicket but not like a score of 101 runs. MI won this match by 81 runs and qualified for Qualifier 2nd where they will meet Gujrat Titans and it will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
