Fastest Ball In Cricket History

Former Pakistani cricketer and commentator Shoaib Akhtar holds the record of delivering the fastest ball in the history of cricket.

He bowled at the speed of 161.3 kmph (100.2 mph) in the 2003 World Cup against England.

He also came to be known as “Rawalpindi Express” because of his ability to bowl fast

He became the first bowler to bowl at 100 miles per hour.

Shoaib’s ridiculously fast bowling gave nightmares to the best of batters in the world of cricket.

However, there has been a rumor which has set up the internet on fire. This rumor states that Bhuvneshwar Kumar clocked the fastest ball at 208 kmph in India vs Ireland T20I match.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar's first knock as shown by the speedometer was at 201 kph while the other knock in the same over was recorded at 208 kmph.

But that’s not true, as the speed recorded by the speedometer was because of the fault in the speedometer.

However, soon it was revealed that it was because of a fault in the speedometer and the fastest ball in history was cricket bowled by Shoaib Akhtar.

However, this is not something new in the world of cricket as earlier in IPL 2013 also the speedometer gave wrong readings.

When Morne Morkel, a South African cricketer was on the pitch delivering the bowl, he was astonished at the readings of the speedometer which showed a speed of 173.9 kmph
