IPL 2020 PLAYOFF POSSIBILITIES!!

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to welcome the playoffs but we still don’t get our top four. Mumbai Indians have managed to set their benchmark by getting qualified for the playoffs before anyone else. Now, the other teams will be qualified based on some crucial points.

Net run-rate is the game changer here!

Playoffs are at hand and we haven’t got our top four teams. Currently, if we look at the points table, Chennai Super Kings has been ruled out from the IPL, so now the six teams rather than MI will fight with each other to get their names in the top four. Net run-rate is going to play a major role here.

Let’s look at some points which will explain to you the whole dilemma,

1. Mumbai Indians has assured its place in the playoffs with 18 points which no team can match now.
2. Now, there is a tough fight between Delhi and Bangalore to grab the second spot with 16 points, which will end with the upcoming match between them.
3. There is high competition for the third and the fourth spot between the teams which are Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and the loser of the match between DC and RCB.
4. If we look at every possibility, three out of these four teams will end the league stage with 14 points. So, here NRR comes into play.
5. If NRR comes on the field, Hyderabad has the better NRR among all and Kolkata has the worst.  
6. Kolkata if win all matches, can tie up with RCB or DC for the third spot or probably for fourth.
7. The loser of DC vs RCB will face a tough fight.
8. The only teams with positive NRR are Hyderabad, they just have to win their last game with MI to make a tie-up of 14 points and they will make it to playoffs with the best NRR.

As KXIP and RR are out from the race of playoffs it will be exciting to watch which three teams will come in the list of top four along with Mumbai Indians.
