IPL 2022: Who Dominates The Purple Cap? Fierce Competition Between These Players

The thrill of IPL 2022 is increasing day by day and with this the competition among bowlers to take wickets has also intensified. In this season, along with the team of Rajasthan Royals , its players are also working hard, that is why Rajasthan Royals bowlers are leading in the Orange Cap as well as the Purple Cap race. Let’s take a look at what changed in this list after the 40th match of IPL 2022.

This Player Has Dominated In The Purple Cap

So far in IPL 2022, Rajasthan Royals bowler Yuzvendra Chahal is leading the race for the Purple Cap with the most wickets. Chahal has taken 18 wickets in this season while bowling brilliantly. While bowling brilliantly for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the match played today, Umran Malik has come second, leaving behind his own teammate T Natarajan by taking 5 wickets.

On the other hand, CSK’s Dwayne Bravo has moved up to the fourth position and while bowling lethally against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans bowler Mohammed Shami has managed to make his place in the top-5 in the purple cap race. With Shami and Malik joining the top-5, Vanindu Hasranga and Kuldeep Yadav had to go out of this list.

The Competition Between These Top-5 Bowlers Is Fast

After the 40th match of IPL 2022 played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, some exciting changes were seen in the Purple Cap race. Currently, in this list, Rajasthan Royals’ star bowler Yuzvendra Chahal has captured the Purple Cap, taking 18 wickets while playing 8 matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler Umran Malik has taken 15 wickets in 8 matches. His teammate T Natarajan has also come third in this list, taking 15 wickets in 8 matches so far.

CSK’s Dwayne Bravo is fourth with 14 wickets. So, Mohammed Shami of Gujarat Titans has come fifth in this list with 13 wickets. There are still many matches left in this season and many new bowlers can also join this list in the coming matches. So in the upcoming matches, it is going to be very interesting to see which player can top this list?
