On The Occasion Of Jason Roy’s Birthday, 100MB Tweeted Their Best Wishes

England opener Jason Roy rejoices on his 32nd birthday today and on this special occasion 100MB took to their official Twitter account to extend their warm greetings

For those who aren’t aware of Jason Roy, here is a glimpse of his life and career:

In the limited-overs format, the right-handed batter has been invaluable to his team and was crucial to their first World Cup victory in 2019.

Roy was born on July 21, 1990, in Durban, South Africa. At age 10, his family moved to England.

The selectors instantly took note of him after he quickly made his mark for Surrey.

He was selected to play for the T20I team against India in 2014 due to his forceful strokeplay. The daring opener earned his ODI debut the following year.

He was a standout throughout England’s World Cup run in 2019, as evidenced by his electrifying displays.

Here are some of Jason Roy’s top performances as he approaches his 32nd birthday:

1. In the first ODI between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the England opener and Joe Root put up a double-century partnership, scoring 180 against Australia.

After the hosts set a target of 304 thanks to Aaron Finch’s century, England won by five wickets with Jason Roy’s brilliant innings.

In addition, the right-handed batsman amassed the greatest individual score at the MCG and the best score by an England batsman. For his innings, he was named player of the match.

2. 2016’s “162 vs. Sri Lanka” saw Roy receive the player of the game award once more for his 162-run match-winning performance.

Before being dismissed by Nuwan Pradeep, the opener hammered bowlers for three sixes and thirteen fours.

He tied for the fourth-highest score by an English batsman in ODIs with his scorching inning.

3. 153 vs. Bangladesh (2019): Jason Roy led his team to victory over Bangladesh during the 2019 World Cup campaign.

In their matchup with Mushfiqur Rahim’s team, England amassed a massive 386 runs thanks to the opener’s 153-run knock. 14 fours and 5 sixes were among the many boundaries in Roy’s explosive innings.

Then, thanks to Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes both taking three wickets, England romped to a 106-run triumph.

4. 114 against Pakistan (2019): The right-handed opener inspired his team to a stunning victory in the ODI at Trent Bridge.

Roy and Ben Stokes took on the responsibility of leading their team to victory after Babar Azam assisted the visitors in posting 340 on the scoreboard.

The opener won the player of the match award once more for his 114 runs off 123 deliveries.

5. Jason Roy scored his first ODI century since the 2019 World Cup in 86 deliveries against the Netherlands in 2022, scoring 101*.

Together with Jos Buttler, he put up an unbroken 163-run stand to seal the victory in just 30.1 overs.

England won the series 3-0 with a clean sweep thanks to the two hitters’ sturdy alliance
