Of course, no one was surprised to know the preferred name of Ravi Shastri. According to Ravi Shastri, either Rishav Panth, Lokesh Rahul, or Shreyas Iyer could be the next captain of the Indian team.

It is pertinent to mention here that Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Aiyar are the biggest reliance of the Indian team for the three formats of Tests, ODIs, and T20s based on their outstanding performances in the last few months.

This is the biggest reason any one of the three is the biggest contender to be the next captain of India. Ravi Shastri says, “Virat Kohli is no longer the captain, but Rohit Sharma is also a very good captain, especially white. Everyone will see who will captain the team in the future, but Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Lokesh Rahul are currently in this race. The Indian team will look for a strong captain for the future.”

Ravi Shastri added, “We saw Venkatesh Iyer in the last IPL. No one had ever heard of him before, and he was in the Indian team till the end. So you expect the unexpected. This is the beauty of IPL. Pandya is set to captain the participating franchise Gujarat Titans for the first time in 2022. It will be interesting to see what he does as a captain.”
