Gujrat Titans won the match against RCB by 6 wickets and couldn’t let RCB qualify for playoffs. The match was played at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore where we encountered high-scoring games very frequently. It was also a high-scoring match where Kohli and Gill scored consecutive centuries. All it started with RCB’s batting where Kohli and Faf gave a good start to the team but Faf departed on the bowl of Noor Ahmed. Then Maxwell came to bat and played a short cameo of just 11 runs and couldn’t give enough support to Kohli on the other hand.
Lomror and Karthik also went without making any impact in the game. But the runs were flowing because Kohli was playing his natural game. Later on, he got some support from Anuj Rawat and Bracewell to ensure the scoreboard was running. Virat completed his century in just 60 balls and took the total score to 196 runs. It was a good score but at Chinnaswamy, it is chasable also.
Gujrat came to bat with a positive mindset where Saha threw his wicket at an early stage. But then Gill and Vijay Shankar built a good partnership while scoring quick runs. RCB bowlers were struggling to get any wickets and they built a partnership of 123 runs. But later on, RCB broke this partnership and took some quick wickets of Miller and Shanaka as well.
RCB was looking for Gill’s wicket but he was in prime form and constantly dominating bowlers. Siraj was only effective on RCB’s side throughout the whole tournament. In the end, RCB lost this match and couldn’t make themselves qualify for playoffs. It was a good season for them but the top teams in this tournament outplayed them. Now we will watch the first qualifier between CSK and GT on Tuesday at Chepauk.
