Netherland and England have had a face-off twice in ICC T20 World Cup tournaments out which England has won 0 matches, offering the victory to the Netherlands twice.

When these teams clashed in the world Cup England posted the highest total of 162 runs while the Netherlands posted the highest total of 163 runs. In 2014 when these teams had a face-off Netherlands won by 45 runs while in 2009 when they had a face-off Netherlands won by 4 wickets.

Going down the line, in the opening match of the second T20 in 2009, Ryan found himself at the crease in the 14th over as they required 47 runs in the last 7 against England. However, after top scorer Tom had fallen with later Peter Borren was dismissed Ten Doeschate and Edgar Schiferli decided to sabotage.

After Schiferli smashed the ball, the Netherlands took the winning run creating June 5 as a red-letter day in the history of their country.
