The rest series between England and India has been finished where two matches were played in Chennai and the other two in Ahmedabad. Team India won three out of four matches and won the series. There will be another T20 and One Day International matches to be played between both the team soon. All the matches are expected to be ended by the end of this month as the Indian Premier League is going to start soon after that.
However, Jos Buttler who only played one test match and left the other three as he had to go back to his home, might not be seen playing for some time. As per reports, the England team is not taking some of the players in the team so that they will get time to rest and prepare for IPL 2021. Though, as per buttler, it won’t be possible for him to play matches one after another. The head coach of the English Cricket team, Chris Silverwood had assured that all the players from their team will stay in India until their teams need them.
The players will get to play more than twenty T20 matches in India this year and it would be big learning for them as there is twenty 20 world cup to be starting from October this year and all the players will know about the different stadiums and their conditions.
Buttler said in a statement that it would be very useful for them to play in IPL as it will provide them huge experience. Also, they will be playing the IPL matches at Indian stadiums where World T20 matches will be played after few months, so it will be big learning for them. Along with monetary rewards, there is much more than the players will take home with them, Buttler added.
The five matches T20 series between India and England will be starting from 12th March. The matches will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. We are hoping to see a better performance by the Englishmen this time. The Narendra Modi stadium has recently been renovated and is a stadium with the largest sitting capacity in the world which makes it the perfect venue for the World Cup finals.
22 MATCHES THIS YEAR BEFORE WORLD CUP
The England team has already played six test matches and they will be playing 13 T20 matches and 9 One Day Internationals before they will play the World Cup.
