Dhoni Makes New Record In Match Against LSG

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings could face a seven-wicket defeat against Lucknow Super Giants in the seventh match of the 15th season of the IPL, though the team’s experienced wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni has set a big record in the match.

Dhoni opened the scoring with six runs for the first time in his IPL career. In this exciting match played at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium, Dhoni scored an unbeaten 16 off 6 balls with a six and two fours.

Batting first, CSK scored 210 for 6 in 20 overs and set a target of 211 for victory against Lucknow Super Giants. During this time Dhoni also completed his 6000 runs in T20 cricket. Dhoni is the first Indian wicketkeeper to achieve this feat in the shortest format of cricket.

Dhoni needed 16 runs to build this fame. Mahi became the sixth Indian batsman to score 6,000 runs in T20I with four balls to spare in CSK’s innings. Earlier, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan and Robin Uthappa have made this feat.

Kohli has scored 10,326 runs in T20 cricket. Incumbent India captain Rohit has so far scored a total of 9938 runs. Raina and Shikhar have 654 and 618 runs respectively. Uthappa has scored a total of 8,120 runs in T20. West Indies’ Chris Gayle holds the record for most runs in T20 cricket. Gayle top-scored with 14,526 runs, followed by Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik with more than 11,000 runs.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has scored 6000 runs in T20 cricket, including 46 for Chennai and 564 for Rising Pune Super Giants. Playing for the Indian team, Dhoni has scored 1818 runs, while he has scored 123 runs in the T20s for Jharkhand. No Indian wicketkeeper has achieved this feat before Dhoni in T20 cricket. Mahi hit a half-century in the first match of IPL 2022 against Kolkata Knight Riders but CSK also lost.

Loss In Last Match

Lucknow Super Giants defeated Chennai Super Kings by 8 wickets in a close match. They got their first win in IPL. Lucknow won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, Chennai lost seven wickets and made 210 runs. With three balls left in reply, Lucknow topped the run. Evin Lewis of Lucknow played great. He remained unbeaten on 55 off 23 balls.
