KKR vs RCB: What Do The Stats Say? Who Has Won More In IPL?

The match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders has always been one of the most exciting in the history of IPL. Both the teams were part of the first match of the inaugural IPL in 2006 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

Brendon McCullum became the only KKR player to score a century in that match so far. Since then till today no night batter has been able to reach the limit of 100. In his unbeaten 156-run innings, KKR beat RCB by 140 runs.

Since 2006, the two teams have faced each other 30 times in the IPL. Of the two, Kolkata is at the top with 16 wins while RCB has won 13 times against Kolkata in the IPL. Recent records show that RCB has won four of the last six matches. But the Knights have won the last two matches.

Former Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has an incredible record in playing between the two teams in the IPL. He has scored the most runs (74) in this fixture, topping Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Gautam Gambhir, Jacques Kallis and Brendon McCullum. On the other hand, among the bowlers, Sunil Narayan has taken the most (20) wickets in this fixture. He is followed by Yuzbendra Chahal (19) and Binoy Kumar (18).

Both the teams have appointed new captains in the current IPL. Although their first match was a low scoring match, Shreyas Iyer’s KKR got a great victory. On the other hand, RCB had to lose by scoring over 200 runs due to the fierce batting of captain Du Plessis. Both teams will be desperate to win today.

RCB’s thinking is their bowling. No bowler has been able to hold back the Punjab batsmen the day before. Captain Du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik have done well with the bat. So they don’t have to worry about that. The same is true of the Knights. Though their spinners bowled well, they are still worried about death bowling.

Kolkata Knight Riders Possible Playing XI:

Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana, Shreyas Iyer (captain), Sam Billings, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Sheldon Jackson (wicket-keeper), Shivam Mavi, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakraborty.

Royal Challengers Bangalore PossiblePlaying XI :

Faf du Plessis (captain), Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Sherman Rutherford, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasranga, David Wiley, Harshal Patel, Mohammad Siraj, Karn.
