Shoaib Akhtar Wants To See Babar Azam & Virat Kohli Open Together In IPL

Pakistan’s legendary fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has made big demands on Pakistan captain Babar Azam. Shoaib Akhtar believes that Babar Azam, the number one ODI and T20 international batsman in the Indian Premier League, could be worth Rs 15-20 crore.

The 15th edition of the IPL is currently underway, with the country’s players taking part in all major cricket matches except Pakistan’s. However, in the first few seasons of the IPL, Pakistani players took part in the competition.

One of them is Shoaib Akhtar. The Rawalpindi Express is currently associated with Sportskeeda for the IPL and monitors and reviews IPL matches with former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh. Shoaib Akhtar, the world’s fastest bowler, has expressed his views on how great it would be to see Babar Azam play with Virat Kohli in the IPL. Akhtar said, “It will be enjoyable to see Babar Azam and Virat Kohli start the innings together in the IPL one day.”

Shoaib Akhtar said, “What a wonderful moment it will be when Babar Azam will be bought for Rs 15-20 crore in the IPL auction and he will be the most expensive player in Pakistan.” It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan players were the only ones to participate in IPL 2006.

Shoaib got a chance to play in the 35th match of the IPL 2006. Eden was on fire in his first match. Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, AB de Villiers and Manoj Tiwary were dismissed by the Rawalpindi Express. He played only three matches for KKR that year.

A total of 11 Pakistani players were part of different teams in the IPL. Shahid Afridi was the most expensive player in Pakistan at that time. He was bought by Deccan Chargers for Rs 2.61 crore.

Azhar Mahmood has played a maximum of 3 seasons among Pakistanis in IPL. Because he later came up with the idea of a British passport. At the same time, in 2006, Shoaib Akhtar was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 16 million.
